At this time of year especially, my skin always loses the glow that it has (attempted) to gain over the summer months. Gone is the time when I could skip using any kind of highlighter and I suddenly start plastering it all over my face like some kind of illuminating-crazed maniac. This little pot of wonderfulness fills that summer void. Based off the original Java Rice Powder of 150 years ago, Bourjois is celebrating its 150th anniversary by updating its best-selling product of the 20th Century into an illuminating powder - Bourjois' Java Rice Illuminating Powder - and it's perfect for dull-faced ladies such as myself!
Originally, I was a bit worried that it may be too glittery as that's how it looks in the pot, but it's not at all. It creates a lit-from-within glow, which is all down to the finely-milled texture of the powder - it's super light and you can't feel it on the skin at all. Inside, it has a twist mechanism, which allows you to control how much powder comes out with ease - also meaning no spillages (we know we're all guilty of that when using loose powder products!) I tend to use this at the top of my cheeks and just under the arch of my brow, in order to lift my face a little in the colder months. I find it really makes my face look more alive - something I can hardly complain about!
If you're looking for a little pick-me-up for your face, I'm going to tell you to look no further - after 150 years, Bourjois are still getting it right, and I don't think they're going to stop any time soon!
This sounds lovely, I'll definitely pick it up next time I'm in Boots :) <3
