New Kid on the Block

I'm one of the unlucky ones - without a primer, my whole face of makeup tends to slide off throughout the day, no matter how careful I am, or how well I attempt to apply it. However, primers are one of those things that I can never find a good enough one of - they're either too greasy, or just don't work at all. That's why, when I find one that works, I have to tell everyone I know about it - and that's what I'm going to do today!

Bourjois have recently launched their 'Happy Light' range, which includes foundations, concealers, powders, and luckily for me, a primer! There are two you can choose from, a 'luminous' version, or a matte version. I opted for the matte version, Bourjois' Happy Light Matte Base Serum, as I have been using quite a luminous foundation recently and I didn't want to end up looking like a disco ball!

I find that this primer really does its job. It mattifies the skin ready for foundation without making it dry and, as the name suggests, it feels super light and almost velvety on the skin - it just feels like you have incredible skin! It also minimises the visibility of pores, making your skin look really smooth.

The only downside I can see with this product is with the application. If you over-blend while applying it, it starts peeling off in weird rolls - not attractive, and wasting a lot of product! To stop this, I find it's a lot easier to pat it into the skin instead, it stops any weird scaly skin dilemmas, anyway!

I'm pretty impressed with this new beauty from Bourjois. Despite the application troubles at first, it's pretty foolproof for me now and it's definitely become one of my makeup bag staples!
