Summer Blush - Sleek

After hearing loads of positive reviews about the Sleek blushes, I really wanted to give one a go myself. I'm a total Sleek newbie, having never bought a single thing from them before (shock horror), but I was in Superdrug and one happened to jump into my basket all of its own accord... honest. The shade I chose was Coral, I've been loving coral/peachy colours recently because pink blushes tend to wash my skin out totally. I fell in love with the colour as soon as I saw it, it's perfect for summer and such a wearable colour for a pale lady such as myself.

I was expecting this to replace my go-to blusher of the moment, the Natural Collection's Peach Melba (review here), but I'm not sure it's up to the same standard, despite being more than double the price! Although the colour is beautiful, the pigmentation just isn't there. I had to layer and layer the Sleek blush on, whereas with my Natural Collection one, I can do a quick dab in the pan with my blusher brush, sweep it across my cheek and I'm ready to go. A little bit disappointing if I'm honest!

I know a lot of people swear by Sleek blushes, but personally, I don't see why there is a big hype around them. Sure, the colours are lovely but if they don't translate onto the skin easily I can't see the point if I'm honest!

Have you tried any Sleek blushes? What did you think?

  1. Sleek blushes have always been one of my favourite blushes in my collection! Maybe you got a slightly faulty one? But when iv swatched this i have found it to be a little 'chalky'? But most of them are phenomenal and great colours.

  2. I've never tried any Sleek blushes but people ALWAYS rave about them! I'm surprised that the pigmentation isn't very good - maybe it's just this one colour? I'm in love with Natural Collection's Peach Melba too so I won't be purchasing this any time soon! :D

  5. I have 3 sleek blushes and they all work amazingly. But I do not own that colour. Maybe go for brighter, more neon colours?

  7. I've not tried a Sleek blush before but it's such a shame this colour isn't the best! Maybe some of the other shades are more pigmented, I always hear amazing things about them! I really like Natural Collection blushes too, super affordable and really lovely quality - the best combination!
