A Brand New Brush

I'm going to be perfectly honest with you here. Before starting this blog back in January, I owned only two make-up brushes - one for powder, and one for applying eyeshadow. I know that's completely unheard of in the beauty blogging world, but it's just the way it was. I applied my foundation with my fingers, and I found that it ended up looking quite patchy and 'caked on' - not good for a so-called beauty blogger!

The Foundation Brush is part of the 'Base' collection, and I use it to apply foundation and then blend my concealer, both for which I think it works really well. It's got an angled cut, which means it's super easy to reach those places typical foundation brushes don't reach (applying around my nose/eyes has always been a problem for me!), and I'm able to cover up any dark circles really easily. I've also seen a huge difference in the way I apply my makeup! Before, I'd be using a few pumps of foundation to cover my face, as my hands soaked up most of it, but now I use one tiny pump on foundation and it covers my whole face - such a money saver.

The only downside to this brush is after a few days, the bristles tend to stick together and leave a stripey effect on my face - not good. For this reason, I'd probably recommend washing this brush twice a week, as who wants to look like a foundation-covered zebra? I've been eyeing up the Expert Face Brush as a backup, just in case I haven't had the chance to wash my Foundation Brush - which I may have to add to my collection on payday!

Have you tried any RT brushes? Which ones would you recommend?

  3. I bought the core collection which had smaller versions of the face brushes. I love them, the only problem is they are a littler smaller but I seriously can not apply make-up without them now.
