They're Real (I promise!)

I know what you're thinking, "Sophie, you're a little late to the game!". And I know, I have had Benefit's They're Real Mascara on my wishlist for some time now, and I was lucky enough to receive this from one of my lovely older brothers for Christmas. I can't explain how excited I was to finally have it - the price tag has always put me off if I'm honest - and as a poor student I certainly wasn't going to fork out £19.50 for a mascara!

I must admit, I wasn't really sure what to expect from this. I've read so many reviews and they've all been completely mixed - some people see it as their holy grail mascara, and others say it's no different than one you can pick up from Boots. But, I've been giving it a go and I must say - I am definitely impressed!

The mascara comes with a plastic wand, which I'll admit I've never been a fan of, but it's a thick one that really gets a grip on your lashes and makes sure every last lash is coated. As well as that, the sticky-up bits at the top (technical term) really help you get to those pesky tiny lashes that are too hard to coat with my past mascaras.

It claims to create the illusion of having false lashes on, and although my lashes don't end up akin to the falsies I apply when going on a night out, I'd definitely say They're Real creates the thick, long, curly lash effect that come commonly with false lashes (reeeesult!)

It can be quite wet at first which can be a bit of a pain if you sneeze after you've applied your mascara (guilty), as it can be quite tricky to get off then. Not a huge problem if you have some Bioderma and a cotton bud handy, but not great when you're applying on the go!

Overall, despite the messiness at first (I've managed to conquer it with a steady hand, though sometimes the sniffles still get to me), this has become my go-to mascara. I'm more than impressed with it, and even though the price is pretty high, if you have the money - or just want to treat yourself - then I'd say go for it.
