The weekend that just passed, my eldest brother got married. It was literally the perfect day - the church service was beautiful, the venue was stunning and everything went without a hitch. I was given the honour of being a bridesmaid for the lovely couple's big day - something I was more than happy to do, as I wanted to be a part of their big day and make sure they were having the most wonderful time possible.
Now, with being a bridesmaid comes a few things - lots of walking, a fair few tears and the inevitable drunken dancing than ensues after a couple too many glasses of champagne. Not wanting to look like I'd been on the lash for a good few weeks (though feeling like it the next morning), I realised that I'd definitely need something to keep my makeup in place all day - who'd want to be the girl who's eyebrows end up on her cheeks and her mascara runs halfway down her face? Not me - but I had it sorted.
After reading up on a few different setting sprays, I went for the De-Slick Spray by Urban Decay - opting for the travel size, purely because the normal size wouldn't fit in my bag! It claims to 'control oil, deflect surface shine and keep skin looking beautifully matte' - something I definitely needed, a shiny face is never a good look when you're getting your picture taken all day! Luckily for me, it did exactly that. No unsightly shiny patches around my nose of on my chin like I usually get, meaning I didn't get 'ghost face' on the photos, hooray!
Urban Decay claims that the spray also 'lowers the temperature of your makeup to help it stay put' too, and I can say with confidence that it does exactly that. It worked as a little boost to me throughout the day - being on the go from 8am-2am the next morning meant that I definitely needed a little pick me up in order to keep me looking awake, my makeup staying in place was just an added bonus! I didn't see any signs of shifting from my makeup - I had to touch my mascara and lippy up once at about 8pm, but other than that, it was exactly the same as when I applied it early in the morning.
I genuinely can't sing this setting spray's praises enough. It does exactly what it says on the tin - if you're looking for something to keep your make-up in place all day, or just keep your face from going a little shiny, I've found the product for you!
If you've tried the All Nighter or the Chill versions of this spray, please let me know - I'd love to hear your thoughts!

(PS. I know I have definitely been lacking on the blogging front lately - there have been so many things going on (the wedding being just one!).
But, now that most things are completely sorted, I promise I'll be back posting on a regular basis... Stay tuned!)
I need to try this as the mua setting spray I recently bought has disappointed me deeply! xx
