The Skincare Tag

I've been reading a few of these types of posts over the last few weeks, and the lovely ladies at Stylingo tagged me to have a go, so here we are! Skincare is something I didn't really pay much attention to up until about two years ago (slap my wrists, I know!), but having nice skin has made such a difference to my appearance. ANYWAY, on to the questions!

1. Describe your skincare routine in five words.
Incredibly meticulous when I'm sober!

2. What is your skin type?
I'd say combination, as my face is pretty normal until you get to my nose/chin area where it looks like a little gang of spots have decided to have a party in the recent months. I'm constantly getting spots on my chin, which are usually super painful - sounds gross... it is!

3. What is your favourite skincare product?
Recently, I've been loving the LUSH Mask of Magnaminty. It smells incredible and feels amazing on your skin, and like it's really doing some good for you. It's perfect for hangovers too, the pepperminty smell really wakes you up and makes you feel at least a little bit alive when you've got the hangover from hell!

4. Top blemish zapper?
LUSH's Grease Lightning. It really does work wonders! Even the big, bad, painful ones get completely zapped with it.

5. Face wipes... Yay or nay?
I haven't used face wipes in forever, it feels like they're dragging across my skin and not doing it any good at all. I reach for my Bioderma Micellar Solution and a cotton wool pad if I'm being lazy thesedays!

6. Toner... Yay or nay?
Definitely yay. It takes off anything that my cleanser's missed, and any bits of leftover facemask when I'm giving myself a bit of a pamper! I use the Liz Earle Skin Tonic, which smells incredible and makes your skin feel lovely too.

7. High-end skincare or high-end makeup?
High-end skincare, definitely! There's no point putting makeup on a less-than-perfect canvas, as it'll never look it's best. Plus if you have incredible skin, you might not even need any makeup anyway! ;)

8. You're in a French pharmacy and can only buy one item, what would it be?
I'd say something different from Bioderma, maybe one of their cleansing milks - I've loved their micellar solution so I'm hoping I'd be impressed by the rest of their products too!

9. Top skincare tip?
Always always ALWAYS remove your make-up, and double cleansing is a life-saver. My skin has improved so much since I've started using Bioderma to remove my makeup, and then cleansing with my Liz Earle cleanser before doing anything else. Also - treat yourself to a facemask once in a while! They're so relaxing and work wonders on your skin... Trust me!

So there we have it! I hope you've enjoyed having a little look into my skincare regime.

For this, I tag:

  1. I've heard so many good things about Lush skincare products. I've always been a Liz Earl girl but think I'm going to give Lush a go for a bit of a change. I'm also going to try your tip of removing your makeup before cleansing. Never done that but it sounds like a good plan :) xx
