I'd been putting off buying into the Lip Butter hype that seems to have taken over the beauty blogging world, as the most hyped-up products always have a bigger chance of letting you down in the long run. However, after seeing a lot (and I mean A LOT) of reviews and swatches online, I wanted to have a little looks so naturally, I stumbled into Boots and accidentally dropped two into my basket.
The two shades I opted for were Juicy Papaya, a gorgeous orange-toned coral/pinky shade, and Raspberry Pie, a beautiful raspberry colour (surprisingly). I swatched them beforehand, and Juicy Papaya looked like quite a sheer colour, whereas Raspberry Pie was a bold lip colour, perfect for the summer months!
The formula of the Lip Butters is 'buttery', as the name suggests, meaning that they are moisturising and quite glossy. Despite loving a matte lip recently, I must say I love the glossiness of these as they aren't sticky at all, they give a lovely shine and my hair won't stick to them if it gets a bit windy - something I'm sure we can all relate to!
The lasting power of the Lip Butters is quite good, I applied again every four or so hours when my lips were looking a bit sparse of colour, but you can blot once you've applied and use them as more of a lip stain, meaning they'll last a lot longer - just a little tip for you there!
If you're looking for a new lip product for summer, I can't recommend these enough. There are TONS of gorgeous colours to try out, so you can find your favourite and stick to it for summer... Or think like me and want to buy the rest of the shades straight away!
Have you tried the Revlon Lip Butters? What did you think?
