The Staple MAC Lipstick

Over the past couple of months, I have become a huge MAC lipstick fan. I'm happy to spend the money on MAC products, whether it be because I've found the perfect shade that I need to try, or I'm just having a bad day and need a pick me up (believe me, having a MAC store near work is seriously dangerous after a long day!), because I know that they'll be good quality and I'll definitely use them.

So this week, after searching and searching for the perfect red lipstick for ages, I 'stumbled' into MAC and asked one of the counter girls for some help. I explained that I was a bit dubious of trying bright red lipstick, as I'm stupidly pale and I feel that they wash my skin out, as I've mentioned on my blog before. But, she assured me that if I went for 'bluish' red lipsticks then it would suit me and my skin perfectly, and that's when she picked out Russian Red.

Yes, hugely late to the bandwagon and you've probably heard this review many times before, but I think I'm a little bit in love with this lipstick. The lipstick is described as an 'intense bluish red', which is perfect for my skin tone, as the blue undertones mean that it doesn't make me look uber pale. It's a Matte formula, which is my favourite from MAC because it basically doesn't budge all day - I wore it all day on Tuesday, and only needed to reapply once, even though I was eating and drinking. Some people complain that the Matte MAC lipsticks are drying on the lips, but this one isn't in the slightest, which I'm very grateful for, as I hate the feel of dry lips!

If you're a pale lady and you're looking for a red lipstick, I can't recommend Russian Red enough. Yes, it may be overplayed in the blogging world, but there's a reason for that - it's definitely worth it!
