Cheap and Cheerful?

Boots Natural Collection Concealer in Fair - £1.99
As you're probably aware, Natural Collection is a make-up brand by Boots. The prices for the make-up, which includes mascara, blusher, foundation (to name but a few), are all £1.99 or under - but does a cheap price tag mean cheap looking/feeling make up?

Recently, I've been working a lot more and not eating as well as I should have been (bad, I know, but I need the money and I'm saving for summer!). So, I've been having a couple of breakouts on my skin, as well as developing dark circles under my eyes - not a good look.

I was looking for a concealer in Boots, and decided to go down the cheap and cheerful route - I've used Natural Collection Pressed Powder before and it was quite good. I figured for £1.99, I couldn't really go wrong with the concealer, and even if it wasn't that great, I hadn't broken the bank.

In terms of the matching to my skin of the concealer, it does quite well. I'm naturally very pale but this doesn't look silly on my skin, it blends in well and covers my blemishes up without having to use tons of it. However, the consistency of the concealer isn't brilliant, it leaves my skin feeling quite dry in the places I've used it, which doesn't make me feel hugely confident about how it looks.

As well as that, after only using it twice, I went to use it yesterday and the stick of concealer had broken in half?! I don't understand how that happened, because I haven't dropped it, and it's only been sat in my makeup bag. Not doing very well so far.

Overall, I'm not very impressed with the Natural Collection Concealer. It doesn't seem to be very well made, and I probably won't buy it again - only if I have incredibly low amount of money in my account and I happen to need some concealer... and even then I'd probably think twice about it.

Have you tried any Natural Collection products? What did you think?

  1. I haven't tried any of their products but MUA concealer in Superdrug is good and it's only a pound! It's become a favourite of mine and doesn't break the bank :) x
