Berry Hues

For me, Autumn is a few things - warm blankets, hot chocolates and bold lipstick. The shades you couldn't normally get away with in the spring/summer months suddenly make a reappearance in your makeup collection, and everything suddenly feels a lot more cosy and warm. Usually, I'm the type of girl who'll stick to donning a red lip when I want to be bold, but this Autumn, I wanted to change it up a bit. Hence my choice of Beguiled from Topshop.

I've never bought a Topshop lipstick before (shock horror), but in a sudden urge earlier on this week, I found myself perusing the makeup counter in my local store, looking for a more autumnal shade to wear. Beguiled stood out for me straight away, it's a burgundy/maroon shade that I would never normally go for, and I was feeling a little daring that day!

This is one of Topshop's matte lipsticks, but don't be fooled - it goes on like a dream, and it doesn't drag across the lips at all. Unlike other matte lipsticks I've used, it doesn't feel drying, but still has the colour pay-off and lasting power as some of my favourite MAC lipsticks! Also, many other people may have said this before me, but I absolutely love the packaging. It's so simple but so cute, and it seems really well made - I'm not suggesting you drop yours on the floor, but hey... I think it could handle it.

I can't think of a better shade for A/W13, and I think this is one that would suit every skin type. If you're looking for something a little darker, or if you fancy being bold this Autumn, look no further - Beguiled is the one for you!
